Flesh of My Flesh was born. I wrote this song for my son, Nathanael. As time has passed, I’ve realized there are multiple layers of meaning in this song: God is speaking to His Son, Jesus; the relationship between husband and wife as in Genesis 2:23 is there as well. Cary Steward’s powerful interpretation of the Gospel of freedom through Jesus Christ is the heartbeat of the song: “You are free to love, and free to dance. You are free to lift your hands”

Wait on Me was truly inspired by God! One night I asked Him to show me a chapter in the Bible out of which He wanted me to write a song. I opened my Bible to Acts 2 when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples. They were given great power and means to communicate to all men and birthed the New Testament Church. Wait on Me is about waiting on the Holy Spirit to lead and empower you before moving forward in ministry.
Truly Free is the song God gave me to put me on the path of music ministry. God released me to pursue my dream. This song speaks to me even today when I feel burdened, because its truth is never changing. We are all truly free through Christ. We are all called to get the Gospel out in our own unique way.
King of Kings was written from a place of sadness and heaviness. I lost my Dad seven years ago and my family fell apart. In the years following his passing the holidays have always been a struggle for me. This song was written on Christmas Eve when I didn’t feel any hope in my heart. As I was writing the song, God told me hope is always there, because Jesus is all the hope I need. My Refuge is a prayer to God that He would not leave me on the Day of Judgment. That the Blood of His Son Jesus would wash over me. That I would be clean in His sight, be His friend, spend eternity with my God. Lead Me to Your Love was inspired by a friend’s struggle with alcoholism. When I was thinking about my friend, I wrote this song out of the pain I felt in my heart. It is a cry for help and deliverance. Once again God’s grace helps us to start again.
Salvation Song is an invitation to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. I faced great adversity during the writing and recording of this song. I believe it to be powerful in its simple presentation of the Gospel.
As You Give Yourself Away is a call to give all you have to God. During this season, we find ourselves freely giving of our possessions and lives to gain freedom. Jesus set the example. He gave everything He had for us.
Guardian Angel is written by Frank Green and David Kingsley. Frank is the owner of DigitalMaster studio and gave me the opportunity to do the demo for this track. It got great reviews and Frank gave me the opportunity to use it on my album. In this song, “guardian angel” is symbolic of God, and the message is a plea for more of God in someone’s life.
The Source is a fun, catchy song about the gifts God has given us. This song came about while I was writing My Refuge. The simple truth that we don’t deserve the gifts God has given us, but His grace abounds.
The Remnant is a powerful anthem calling the church to stand for God in the face of adversity from the world system. We will serve the Lord in honor and praise. This song is co-written by Antonio Gomez who inspired the music.
Special thanks to Frank Green, an incredible producer, engineer, and instrumentalist. Frank, you have made this project happen through your hard work, talent, and hospitality.
